Hey girl! Over the weekend, my sweet husband and I went to our favorite local park to walk around, delight in the crisp fall air, and spend time together! While we were there, I was in awe of how beautiful the trees looked as their leaves were starting to change from a fresh green to a warm red! 🍁 The weather was fantastic where you didn't need a jacket yet, but you get excited because you know that wear-your-favorite-sweater weather is right around the corner!! I felt like a kid as I went and picked a leaf from a tree— having one of my “zoom-out" moments like I mentioned last week where I just love to marvel at how amazing God is and the beauty He has created around us! Looking at all the tiny, intricate fibers of this colorful leaf and thinking about God's art and creativity of changing the colors every year just makes me smile. ☺️ Holding that beautiful little leaf, taking in the cool air, and holding hands with my best friend lifted my heart and anchored me in the present moment. Don't we need more of that?! More of being in the present moment. More of having FUN! More laughter. More time outside in God's Creation. More play. My other favorite moment that day was heading over to the playground at this park where they recently installed a little zipline!!! Yes, a zipline!! 😆 It basically looked like a Tarzan rope attached to a cable above that you can swing on that went downhill and had a little seat on the rope that you could sit on or stand on. Of course, they had 2 side by side so you could race, so you know Joey and I were game on!! 😎 It was truly so much fun as we laughed together and zipped down the hill! 😂 I wanted to stay there playing for hours. I feel like as we “grow up” it can be easy to forget just how important these moments are when we can get caught up in going through the motions or trying to carry too many heavy things. I needed to “lighten up”! Haha! And, I want to do that a lot more! I believe that God really values laughter and play and wants us to experience His goodness as He is the very source and Creator of joy! These “nutrients” are just as important if not more important than the physical food and nutrients that we put in our bodies. The nutrients of: 💛 laughter 💛 play 💛 being outside in God's Creation 💛 being present 💛 being in community with others So, this week, I encourage you to go and be a kid again and do something fun! 🎉 You can even bring someone along that you love to make the experience even better! It can be as simple as swinging at the playground! I'm starting to feel like I should schedule that in like I do my workouts!! It can help tremendously to get outside of the 4 walls of our house, off of our computers/phones/tv, and out of anxious thoughts and to instead focus on anchoring into the present with gratitude for all that God has done, is doing, and promises to do!
"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." —Psalm 16:11

Have fun!
