Where True Renewal Really Begins

Hey girl!

How are you doing? 💛

I hope you are well!

We are officially in full summer mode! ☀️🌊 I hope it has been a sweet season for you so far! For me, it's been a good season and one of a lot of potential change and transition! It is amazing how much change can reveal about how much I like comfort, a sense of normalcy, a certain environment, and safety. While all of those desires are good and valid to an extent, I'm reminded that Jesus is our only constant in this world. He is my home, my safe place, my joy, and my peace who never wavers.

I've been thinking about how trust in God is the bedrock of well-being in life. With God, we can experience the “it is well with my soul” kind of living even in the midst of the wind and waves.

I'm reminded of these lyrics from the song “On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand”,

"On Christ the solid rock I stand

All other ground is sinking sand

All other ground is sinking sand."

Oh how I know this truth but how quickly I forget.

What this has to do with health is really… everything. While I love to talk about the nutrients of foods, hydration, exercise, and more, I'm reminded that renewing our mind with the Truth of God is the the most vital and the foundation for all of the rest of the roots.

“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” —Romans 12:2

  • Movement 🏃🏻‍♀️ 👟

When we trust the Lord with our entire lives and have His hope and Truth shaping our life, that is when life that is really life begins.

"You make known to me the path of life;

 in your presence there is fullness of joy;

 at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."

—Psalm 16:11

There's a comfort that coats my soul, relaxes my body, and lifts my spirit when I take time to meditate on the Truth — a person who gave Himself for me and wants to see me living free: Jesus.

The number one thing I've been realizing the importance of this year is my mindset. What is my mind set on? Is it God? Is it Truth? Or, am I striving and looking for security in sinking sand that will never stand?

Today, may we remember that God's Truth is a nutrient that we need every single day just as much as we need protein for our bodies.

Cheering you on,

💛 Heather
