Hey girl! This month, we are chatting about meal prep! Today, I wanted to share with you some of my favorite ways to make meal prep more fun! ✨ I think sometimes we can see meal prepping as a chore, but I learn more and more every day that mindset has so much to do with how we approach and enjoy life. I believe that thanking God for His gifts to us is the first place to start. He is the one who nourishes and sustains us. 🌱 It helps me to step back and realize what a blessing and gift it is to have food, the ability to shop and buy food, and especially have such easy access to it as well! Oh, how I take so much for granted on a daily basis! Receiving God's gifts with gratitude cultivates joy and delight in our day to day. 🤲 Preparing and eating food is a core pillar of our life and part of the way God designed us as humans. So, we might as well have as much fun with it as possible, right?! As we talk about ways that we can enjoy meal preparation, I pray that the journey will be less about the food and more about the posture of our hearts. We can choose to approach something as simple as washing produce and stirring a pot with more light-heartedness, laughter, and love that will infuse our eating and also the way we carry ourselves and care for others the rest of the day. ☀️

Here are 5 tips for making meal prep fun:
Gratitude for God's provision 🙏🏼 — approaching shopping or cooking with a grateful heart to God for all that He has given us softens our hearts that can so easily become calloused in the mundane and reawakens them to the tender care and provision from our Heavenly Father. He is our source of life and wants us to enjoy Him in all areas of life.
Make yourself a fun drink 🧋 — I don't know about you, but I love a fun drink to sip on! One of my absolute FAVORITES is Cream Soda Zevia! OLIPOP also has a cream soda flavor that is good too! Maybe you can tell that I love cream soda 😆, but they have lots of other flavors too for you to find your fav! Other good options are sparkling waters like Spindrift, Kombucha (I like Health-Ade), LMNT, or even a fun tea or coffee!
Listen to music 🎶 — starting one of your favorite playlists, whether something upbeat or relaxing can add SO much to your cooking experience in the kitchen!
Cook with your loved ones 🥰 — invite a family member or friend to join you in your meal prepping. I really find joy in transforming a simple task like meal prepping into a moment and memory with someone I love!
Have some peaceful introvert time 😌 — We all can use more moments of peace and quiet in the midst of our busy schedules and technology-connected culture. It can be so needed and rejuvenating to unplug. Having an activity like cooking can be a really therapeutic way to work with our hands and calm our mind and nervous system.
I encourage you to pick a couple of these tips this week to enhance your meal prepping as you prep some of your meals in the week ahead! I'd love to know what your favorite nourishing drink is to sip on while cooking or who your cooking buddy is! Comment below and let me know! I always love to hear from you! 💕
“So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” —1 Corinthians 10:31
“There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment?" —Ecclesiastes 2:24-25
Cheering you on,
💛 Heather
