As you may be thinking about ways to transform your health, like changing things up with food, I wanted to share with you a few “bite-sized” ways to increase health and decrease overwhelm when it comes to meal prepping!
Having healthy options available to us increases our follow-through amidst any super busy days or bumps in the road throughout the week.
It's really all of the little habits in our days that add up to helping us heal, sustain optimal health, and prevent disease.
Write out a plan for the week ahead. I like to use my cute meal planner to take inventory of what we have on hand and plan out meals ahead of time. This helps me feel less stressed and able to reference my plan for ideas to mix and match during the week for meals. 📝
Batch prep your proteins. You could sauté a couple of pounds of wild-caught shrimp 🍤, or throw a big pack of organic chicken breasts into your crockpot to work its magic! This is a game changer! I add my chicken straight from frozen to the crockpot with a little water or broth + seasoning to cook on high for ~4-5 hours. This way, we have protein ready for dinner and typically just need to add a side or two and a yummy sauce to round out our plate! 🍽
Repeat your breakfasts and lunches. For example, I've been having oatmeal 🥣 and a collagen-rich coffee for breakfast, then a veggie-packed 🥦 egg scramble 🍳 for lunch lately. Then, dinner is really the only meal I have to plan for during the week since I've picked something suuuper simple for breakfast and lunch that I don't really have to think about. (Then every couple of weeks or every month you can switch up your breakfast and lunch staples so you are still getting variety!) ✨
BONUS… ☺️ Save that new recipe you want to try for the weekend. On a Saturday or Sunday, you may have more time on your hands to create in the kitchen and really enjoy the experience of making that new dish! 💫
